How long does stain last?

Stain longevity depends on several factors: type of stain, number of coats, weather and exposure.

• Opaque stain: 4-6 years
• Transparent stain: 2-4 years
• Wood oil: 1-2 years

Signs it's time

1. The water test

Sprinkle water on the wood. If it absorbs immediately instead of beading, protection has diminished.

2. Fading

Noticeable colour fading indicates UV protection has decreased.
